The aim of the research and advocacy work of the Centre for Human Rights is to make a contribution to the realisation of human rights in Africa and beyond. Researchers based at the Centre conduct their own research, published in leading academic journals and books. They also collaborate on research and advocacy projects which often also involves researchers based at other institutions.The Centre has undertaken research for among others the South African government, the African Union and the United Nations. Research also forms an important component of all academic programmes based at the Centre. The research team at the Centre includes researchers from all over the African continent and beyond.
